POSITION SUMMARY

Rey Financial Group, located in Short Hills, New Jersey, is seeking a Financial Consultant (FC) to join their boutique, financial planning family team. Having worked together for many years, the team is seeking someone to complement their existing practice and bring value to the areas they can grow.

The Financial Consultant role is critical, client facing role, communicating daily with their highly valued clients and their families. This newly created role will consist of a mix of roughly 50% client servicing and 50% advice-driven work. As a FC, you will support the current Financial Advisors, attend meeting reviews with clients, provide summaries and next steps for all priorities, and enhance proactive and reactive client servicing to include: client onboarding and trading for potential liquidity needs.

Ideal candidates are self-starters with high motivation, possess excellent organization, time management and problem-solving skills, demonstrate confidence and care when communicating with clients, and work well with others in a collaborative environment.



 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with liquidity trading, 401k servicing, updating external holdings, quarterly meetings campaigns, servicing clients, and FA action item support
  • Responsible for ensuring all client needs are promptly and accurately addressed
  • Review and respond to all electronic correspondence; promptly address issues and concerns with professionalism and attention to accurate resolution
  • Responsible for all new account setups, ensuring all documentation is filled out correctly, and proactively address and follow-through on client service requests
  • Create and maintain client files, prepare client forms and reports from rough draft and originating correspondence as requested by the firm’s Partners
  • Assist with client meeting scheduling; join meetings with FA’s to take notes and build relationships
  • Marketing assistance re: quarterly client events, social media and website maintenance/postings, and client birthday cards
  • Estate processing

 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience in investments, finance, tax preparation, or estate planning is preferred. Ability to learn quickly and an interest in the industry will be considered in lieu of experience
  • Series 7 and 66 OR willingness and ability to obtain licenses to support professional growth will be required within specific timeframe

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; well-spoken both on the phone and in person; exudes a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
  • Outstanding planning and organizational skills, efficient multi-tasker, effective follow-up, deadline focused; detail oriented and demonstrates a commitment to accuracy by delivering high quality work
  • Possesses strong work ethics and morals; is driven and motivated to advancing their career through hands on experience and evolving industry knowledge

In 2010, Ashley Rey, CFP®, CDFA® joined, to form the current practice, with the goal of helping their clients build, manage, preserve, and transition their wealth. Manuel has been a financial advisor since 1984, owing a lot of his success to having been an educator first. To this day, he prides himself in empowering the team’s clients by sharing his knowledge and experiences. Jaclyn joined her father 15 years ago as a graduate from Quinnipiac University. She is the Branch Manager, and in addition to her responsibilities as a financial advisor, also manages the practice’s compliance and operations. Ashley graduated from Vassar College in 2009 and joined her father and sister a year later. Earning her CFP® designation, as well as CDFA®, she spearheads the team’s goal-based planning and asset allocation recommendations.

All three partners spend time outside of office hours to give back and connect with their communities, through networking events, clubs, and non-profit boards. Marisol Fontanez is the Administrative Manager, and has been a part of the practice for the past 10 years. She handles documentation, money movements, and operations for the practice. Through guidance, the team aims to help their clients achieve their goals and dreams.
